Better Late Than Never

Landon turned a year old a month ago and I have been meaning to post pictures on here, but haven't gotten around to it. So I am finally getting around to it, but better late than never. Landon was acting shy his whole birthday and every time I went to talk to him he would put his head down. He is such a handsome little guy and was so happy. His birthday was a Lightning McQueen birthday party. He for sure does like CARS! Anyway, he doesn't like to get dirty so it was hard for him to dig into the cake, but he did with the encouragement of his father. Deena and I were taking pictures.  The party was at Peter Piper and it was a big hit!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY LANDON!
Kayden going back and forth between two toys . . . He was taking steps in between them!
This is Ryan's cousin, Kylee with Kayden.  Kayden LOVES Kylee.
Me and my little man!  Isn't he adorable?
Cute little Brooke!!!!!
Kayden climbed up to stairs, but didn't want to climb through the tubes to the slide.  He just wanted to say hello to everyone down below.  He loves attention!
He didn't make it too far in the tube.  It was so busy in there with so many kids.
Landon digs in to the cake.
He didn't know what to think of being dirty! lol
He still the the cutest little guy!
Riding the little ride at Peter Piper!
All the little kids had these hats on and Kayden didn't even notice his on!

In all our craziness . . . we are still alive!!!!

With all the things that have been going on in our life I haven't really had a chance to think. At least that is how I feel. So much has changed and it has been a huge adjustment, and we are still adjusting.  Ryan, is a full time dad and student now at MCC working towards getting into the nursing program.  I am a full time mother and employee of Wells Fargo.  I recently took a promotion that was a much needed blessing.  As many of you know, Ryan lost his job back in May.  It has been 4 months and he still has not found a job after submitting about 400 resumes and applications.  This really is not a market to be looking for a new job.  When he couldn't get a job my family had a family fast for us and we prayed about it that night and got our answer.  We felt very strongly that he needed to focus on school and I would work full time until he is done.  We now realize what a blessing it was that I didn't quit my job after having Kayden, because they were able to give me more hours during those months.  So, anyway, I took a promotion and I am no longer in a branch.  I am working in Store Accounting Support (SAS) as an Operations Processor.  That crazy thing about this is that I have been wanting to work in Operations since I started at WF, but I had never been presented with the chance.  The day after the fast I went to work and was looking at jobs and there were a couple of jobs that I thought would be awesome if I got it.  I applied for a total of 5 jobs and only got declined from one.  I had 4 phone interviews and one personal interview (with another one scheduled) over a two week span.  A couple of days after the personal interview I was offered a job and I gave my 1 1/2 week notice.  My manager was aware that I was looking for a job and he was there when I got the call.  He was awesome and fully supported me in everything I did.  It is so crazy how things fall into place.  I know it is because I have the gospel in my life and the spirit in my home.  We have been so blessed and although it has been hard, it has been good at the same time.  I will be in training for SAS until the end of October.  It is really intense training and the first 2 weeks I dreamed about it every night.  Now, I am so tired that I fall asleep at night and don't hear my alarm in the morning.  My brain is on overload!!!

I enjoy coming home to Kayden and Ryan.  Kayden is growing like CRAZY.  He is the most precious little guy, although he is into biting EVERYONE and EVERYTHING.  He bit his little cousin, Landon, and left marks.  It is not very fun disciplining him when he bites, but we know he needs to learn.  He crawls REALLY fast now and walks if he has something to hold on to.  He is getting more brave and actually took 4 steps the other day.  He just laughs when we clap at him though.  We got him a little toy that he can push around and walk with and he uses it all the time.  He loves it.  Ryan's mom and sister and occasionally my sister watch Kayden while Ryan is at school and Kayden seems to enjoy visiting all the different places.
Well, I want to get to bed tonight so I will put a little caption by the pictures then be done for the night.

This is the toy I was talking about!  Kayden loves being outside and babbling all the way.  When we walk towards the door he gets so excited he almost jumps out of our arms.  He loves watching the cars on the other side of the church. (It is a pretty busy street and he thinks the cars are so cool!)
I love playing with Kayden's hair.  His hair still has a little bite of curl to it.  I would love it if he always had curly hair.
Kayden is OBSESSED with computers and the other day at Ryan's parents it was really quiet and so I went to see what he was doing and this is how I found him.  YUP, he had pulled the keyboard down and was typing an email!!!!
I thought it would be cute to put Kayden in the dryer and he was trying to close the door.  It was so funny.
Same as above but trying to climb out this time.
Being superman, I guess.  He does this all the time and he growls when he does it, but it is the funniest thing in the whole world.
He woke up with his hair like this one day.  I thought Ryan had intentionally put it in a fohawk.
I love his eyes in this picture!
Walking again!
Playing with his one favorite buddies, Landon.  They chase each other around.  Deena, Aaron, and Landon are going to be moving closer to us.  Actually right across our grass.  It will be nice to have them so close.
Brooke enjoying a not so common treat!
Ryan and I were trying to get ready and Kayden wouldn't let us . . . so we built a barricade out of random things and I went in the room to check on Kayden and he was like this trying to get out.  It looks like he is laughing, but he was REALLY mad about it.
Here is a little better picture of his little 'superman' move he does.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Cameron and Alice Tie the Knot!

My younger brother, Cameron, got married on the second of August to a girl from Honeyville, UT named, Alice Taylor.  It was an amazing sealing and we are so happy for them.  My whole family was able to be there except for Karl, who is on a mission!  They were married in the Ogden Temple and it was great!  Anyway, here are some pictures of the shin-dig!
This is my nephew David.  He is the sweetest little guy ever.  I called him the best man because he and Cameron have always been best buddies and he was wearing a tux!  He looked so handsome so it had to make my blog!
You can tell David really didn't want this picture and Alice's sister is completely okay with it!  It was so funny!
I thought this picture was so cute!  I love it actually and I got like ten of them because the setting on my camera was taking multiple pictures at a time!
This is the first time Keith had seen Kayden since Keith came in November when Kayden was born.  Kayden loved Keith and Keith loved Kayden.  (I am trying to see how many times I can use there names in a paragraph!)j/k!  This was right outside the temple as we were waiting for the new Mr. and Mrs. Cameron Prescott!
Classic walking out of the temple picture!  I love how Cameron is trying to not look at all the cameras and Alice has a big ole grin on her face!  Alice is always smiling or laughing . . . it is great!
Well, this is Richard!  I don't think I need to explain if you know Richard, but if you don't know him then just know that this is completely in character for him!
Once again, but with Doris.  Also in character!!!!
The sun was so bright that I was having a really hard time keeping my eyes open, but this is right outside the temple!  It was beautiful!
At the reception!  Story time. . . We had to be there at 5:30 for family pictures and I was running late as usual and I got a call when I was 3 exits away from the one I needed to take and it was Dana and she asked where I was at, so I told her and she said, "Well, can you hurry . . . it is an emergency!"  My heart dropped and I asked what was going on and she said, "Alices sister is sick and can't fix her hair and the heat made it flat and so we need you to do an updo for her!"  So I hurried and in this picture you can kind of see how it turned out.  She has a ton of hair, but it took me maybe 10 minutes to do it and I think it looked pretty darn cute!
This is where the reception was at!  It was amazing!
Doris and Kayden at the luncheon!  She loved him too!  Look how cute his little teeth are!  To bad he uses them to BITE me all the time!
Giving Daddy kisses!  It really is precious . . . and slobbery!
Everytime a train would pass my cute little nephew, Heber, would run up to the fence and watch it go by and he would always look for the last car and say over and over, "There's the last one, There's the last one!"  It was so cute!
Getting ready to leave.  My brother is so sweet and I couldn't help taking this picture!
Standing on the bridge!  I just wish I had done it when it was brighter outside so there weren't so many shadows!  My nephew, Jacob took this picture!
Say it with me now . . . "OHHHHHH SOOOO CUUUUTTTTEEEE!"  And that is when I say, "I know!!!!!"

UTAH HERE WE COME!!!!!

Not a whole lot has been happening around here lately. We are pretty low key people, I think. My brother called all his siblings about a month ago and said that he was getting married. YUP, you know that joke they played on us when they came to visit us in Arizona . . . it is really true. They are getting married on the 2nd of August. So, we will be headed up to UT for that. We leave here on Wednesday morning and come back late Sunday night. We are so excited to see my neices and nephews because we haven't seen them since our wedding. I can hardly contain myself. I am also excited to introduce Kayden to everyone in my family and I am WAY excited to see Zander (Xander if you are Dana) :)  Anyway, here are some cute pictures of my ADORABLE baby.  I just love this little guy.  He brings so much joy to my life.
Sleeping on daddy!
I thought how his hand was on Ryan's arm was so cute!  So precious.  Ryan is the best daddy!
Landon and Kayden playing.  Deena called me a couple of weeks ago and her and Aaron had been throwing up and they didn't have any energy and wanted to get some sleep so they asked if I would watch Landon.  I was so happy to.  He is such a cute little guy.  Anyway, so we went to Gayles a little later and they were playing on the floor so cute.  This is them playing.  Priceless!

The Story of Kayden and Mr. Bear

I didn't know that Kayden could love something so deeply this soon in life, but like everything else with Kayden I am trying to not be surprised at the little things.  At least once a week we make our way over the Ryan's grandparents house, Grandpa and Grandma Carling (the great . . . to Kayden).  Every week out of the toy room comes the same basket of toys.  It is a collection of all the McDonald Happy Meal toys that have been collected over the years of grandchildren.  In this basket is the famous Mr. Bear.  Now this bear usually gets thrown out of the basket and over looked.  That is until one day Kayden finds this bear.  What attracks Kayden to this bear is nothing spectacular to anyone else, but Kayden.  Can you guess what it is? . . . Well, if you were around Kayden enough you wouldn't be surprised . . . It is the tag on this bear.  Kayden loves tags, but he loves Mr. Bears tag more than any other tag.  Every week, with out fail, Kayden will roll around on the floor at 'The Greats' house talking and playing with Mr. Bear.  He will play with the other toys, but Mr. Bear will still be fisted in the other hand.  On this particular day we were getting ready to go and I took Mr. Bear away from Kayden to put him away.  Kayden looked at me with those big blue eyes, stuck his little lip out and let out a big cry.  How dare I take something to special away from him?  Bad mommy!  I picked Kayden up thinking he would forget about Mr. Bear, but his eyes still full with tears, were watching Mr. Bear.  I picked up Mr. Bear and gave him back to Kayden.  Kayden's eyes lite up and he gave Mr. Bear a big huge kiss right on the nose.  I put Kayden in his car seat and took Mr. Bear away, once again.  But this time I gave Kayden another toy to play with.  It still didn't make him happy.  His eyes filled up with tears and he let me know . . . I had let him down once more.  He wanted Mr. Bear.  So, I looked over at Grandma Great who had been watching the whole thing take place.  She let me know that Kayden didn't want anything else but that Mr. Bear and that was just fine with her if he took Mr. Bear to a new home.  All the way home that night Kayden talked to Mr. Bear about his new home.  Mr. Bear was so happy that Kayden had payed attention to him and hadn't let him down.  To this day Kayden hasn't let Mr. Bear down.  Mr. Bear is actually sleeping by Kayden as we speak.  You are probably asking why I am writing this whole story down about Mr. Bear and Kayden . . . well, I never want to forget Mr. Bear, but I also want you to keep your eyes out for another match to Mr. Bear.  I don't want to ever loose Mr. Bear and not have a replacement.  I know it is just a McDonalds toy, but it is made by TY and it does have some importance to Kayden.

Do you like my blog face lift?

Well, let me tell you where I got it from . . .  I was just looking at my friend, Nikki's, blog and it was so cute so I looked further down the page and found this link http://alliebrownslayouts.blogspot.com and I fell in love with all of her layouts.  So if your blog needs a facelift check out this site.

While I am at it I thought that I would post a couple of pictures of Kayden and us since last time.  He is growing so fast and we are enjoying watching him grow constantly.  He never ceases to amaze us.
He turned 8 months old yesterday and so here are 8 reasons why I love the little guy.  Just know that there is SO many more reasons then just the eight.
8.  You never complain if we drag you around in the heat all day to run our errands.
7.  You laugh at us when we, i'm sure, are looking pretty stupid.  It is so funny to you.
6.  You are so determind.  I might regret saying that later, but you want to explore the world and know everything around you.
5.  You always want the one who has been gone.  You miss your dad when he is gone and want him as soon as he walks in the door and the same with me if I have been gone!
4.  You love to be talked to.  I can just see the wheels in your head turning everytime I talk to you.  You are so inquisitive.
3.  You love to crawl and pull yourself up on things.
2.  You have the sweetest smile in the whole world and smile at anyone who takes the time to talk to you!
1.  You are ours and our life is not complete without you in it.
Kayders we love you to death.  Thanks for making us so happy.
