Kayden's Workout

So Ryan and I were sitting and watching Kayden play...we love just watching him.  It is the best.  He goes and picks up these things that Ryan uses while doing his work out.  So OBVIOUSLY from this video Kayden has been watching Ryan because he picked these up and would say, "Up, down, up, down"  it was so stinkin cute.  Ryan and I were so surprised.  I wish my camera did sound so you could hear Kayden...but I am glad you don't have to hear me!

What happens when LeeAnn watches Kayden...

Only when LeeAnn watches ANY of the neices and nephews do things happen.  They are usually pretty interesting too.  This time she didn't try to drown Kayden and she actually didn't do anything to bring this on...except lock herself out of our house.  Let me just say though, I felt so bad for LeeAnn and she felt worse for the whole situation.  For those of you who don't know who LeeAnn is...It is my sister and she doesn't have the best of luck at times while watching babies.

So she was watching Kayden on Friday while I was at work and Ryan was at school.  Kayden has her so wrapped around her finger that it isn't even funny.   So he wanted to go outside.  We have one of those door knobs that it may be locked on the outside, but you can open it from the inside.  Well, when she went outside she 'unlocked' the door and closed it behind her.  Well, a half hour or so later she realized what she had done.  It was only 9:30 and Ryan doesn't get home until after noon.  So she went over to Deena and Aarons and they called our landlord to see if she could come let her in.  She said she would be here no later than 10:30.  Deena texted me to let me know what was going on so I would know why LeeAnn wasn't answering if I tried to call.  Well, I got a call from Deena at 10:45 saying that the landlord still wasn't here.  By this time Kayden was tired and grumpy and ready for a nap.  So I took my lunch early and came home to let her in.  While I was in the car driving...completely unknown to me...Kayden tripped at Deena and Aaron's and hit his eye on the corner of the picnic table.  It cut his eyebrow pretty good, but it looked worse at first than it actually was.  When I saw it I felt so bad for him.  I unlocked the door and cleaned Kayden's cut.  Well, you know how I mentioned how tired Kayden was...He never took a nap that day until 5:00 PM and I had to rock him to sleep by holding him so tight that he couldn't move.  Poor little guy.  But I felt bad for LeeAnn that this happened while Kayden was in her care and that these things only seem to happen to her.

LeeAnn...aka KUKU...we love you and appreciate all you do.  You are a great aunt and we don't know what we would do without you.

....Here is our attempt of getting a picture of Kayden's shiner...

One year older...

I had the pleasure of going to Disneyland for my birthday. It was so much fun. I loved it. I was so tired by the end of the day but it was so worth it.  Ryan's parents had Kayden one night and my sister, LeeAnn (aka Kuku) had him the other night.  Ryan and I have never been away just the two of us and it was a lot of fun.  However, we really did miss the little guy.  Everything we bought at Disneyland was for him.  It was great to get into Disneyland for free...Happy Birthday to ME!
Ryan and I always have to get our picture taken here.  This is at California Adventures.
We got stuck on the ride 'Pirates of the Carribean' in this spot.  We were there for like a half hour.  It wasn't too bad though.
Please ignore my rolls of fat.  I hate this picture of me.  Ryan looks great though!
Then just some other random pictures.  Kayden loves to do this with Ryan.  Kayden thinks he is really playing.  It is pretty funny.
I just think he is so cute.  I was trying to get a good picture of his eyes.  They looked extra blue on this morning.  The only type of picture I got was one of him as a little boy...not my baby! :(
He is so cute.  LOVE HIM!

How do you say NO to this cute little face?

I just found this picture of Kayden and I still think he has the most amazing eyes in the whole world.  He is so sweet and is still loving the fact that I can hold him again.  I love my little boy and I feel so blessed everyday that he is mine.  But the question still stands...How do you say no to someone that has a face as cute as this and those EYES?!?!?  I am so in for it with this one!

I am home and doing well...

I thought you might all want to know what I look like when I have been in the hospital for 24 hours.  This is me and let me tell you...I look amazing!  You should see me now!!!!  The best part of this picture is Kayden.  This is right after my day of tests...mri, spinal tap, emg....and the list could go on and on.

I am feeling A LOT better.  I am still weak, but that could be due to the fact that I have been pumped full of medication and I couldn't keep anything down for the duration of my hospital stay, but it was worse when I got home.  I threw up for 2 days straight.  I stopped counting after the 15th time the 2nd day...It was pretty scary.  My headaches aren't as bad and I could put a bobby pin in my hair today and do my pants up.  So I would say I am improving.  I was able to hold my niece today and give her a bottle at the same time.  I still struggle picking up Kayden, but I feel stronger every day.  My visiting teacher took Kayden for a couple of hours and it was so kind and generous of her.  She is the sweetest person and I am so glad I have gotten to know her.
My dear, dear, DEAR sister-in-law, Jennifer, flew in with a one day notice to give Ryan and everyone else a break.  Everyone has been so good and it is so good to have Jenn here.  I need to remember to ask her for help and not over do it, but I want to do everything again.
I just want to thank everyone for all their thoughts, concerns, and prayers.  We have received all the blessings and are so grateful to have so many wonderful people in our lives.  I can't thank everyone for everything they have done because the list continues to grow.  I love you all and am so grateful for everyone.  Thank you for caring for me and my family.

Hello from the Hospital...

Well, I am writing straight from my hospital room.  My weakness hit rock bottom and I ended up collapsing twice on Wednesday.  Ryan rushed me to the emergency room at St. Josephs Hospital in Phoenix.  We came here because they have the Barrows Neurological Institute.  They did a Spinal Tap and found that I had elevated proteins and sugars in my spinal fluid.  They admitted me and since there wasn't a room for me they kept me in the ER until Thursday night.  I am now in the Barrows Neurological Institute.  They did an EMG and at that point they were able to get me that much closer to a diagnosis.  They are treating me with something called CIDP (Chronic Inflammatory Demylinating Polyneuropathy).  It is a 5 day treatment that has to be done here in the hospital.  I have already gained a lot of my strength back.  I was able to do my hair BY MY SELF today for the first time in about a month.  I was pretty happy about that.  I don't know how long this treatment will last until I have to have another one, but I do appreciate all the prayers and thoughts and kindness to all those that have known about my condition.

A very scary day...

I figured I better sit down and write what is and has been going on with my body.  Some of you didn't even know anything was wrong and it was because I was so hoping that it would just go away.  Well, after a month of dealing with this it hasn't gotten better...just worse.  About a month ago my elbow started hurting and I didn't think much about it other than it really hurt.  After my elbow started hurting I started loosing the strength in my arms..both of them.  It bothered me but I kept thinking it would just go away.  About 2 weeks ago my hands went numb and would tingle some times!  This scared the heck out of me so I made and appointment with my Primary Care doctor and he couldn't get me in for 10 days.  I thought it would never get here.  It continued to worsen and has gotten to the point that Ryan has to do up my bra, pants, and do my hair.  That is when I really lost it.  I cried that whole day at work and I finally had Ryan give me a blessing.  I went to the doctor on tuesday and they ran a couple of tests and requested blood work.  I got the blood work done on Wednesday and got into the neurologist that the doctor referred me to for a Thursday appointment.

The neurologist did some strength tests on me and just to give you an idea of how bad I really am...She had me squat and try to stand up and I couldn't do that without crawling over to the chair and pulling myself up.  I would lift up my arms and she would push them down and I couldn't resist them being pushed down.  I always feel like my muscles are extremely fatigued and shaky.  She told me that I needed to go directly to the hospital because she thought that I had something called Guillian Baire.  In order for this to be diagnosed a ton of tests are run that includes one being a spinal tap.  Ryan and I left her office scared and feeling like there was no hope.  I got Kayden taken care of and immediately called Dana and Keith.  Keith was home and I asked him a lot of questions and he was familiar with the syndrome and was able to give me hope and calm my fears.
Ryan and I checked in at the emergency room and went through a couple of doctors before the neurologist came in.  His name is Dr. Wu and he is very knowledgeable and was very thorough and amazing.  He took 2 pages of notes and asked a ton of questions.  He did all the strength tests that the first neurologist had done plus more.  He ordered more blood test, cat scan, and an EKG.  He didn't diagnose me with anything, but he did say he thought it was Myasthenia Gravis.  He called another neurologist and went over my notes with him and they agreed together that they weren't going to do any major tests until they get my blood work back.  I am being treated with medication for the Myasthenia Gravis until the blood work comes back with the results.
I should be getting the results back no later than Tuesday.  We are hoping to get some answers and hopefully a diagnosis.  I go to the neurologist again on the 30th.  Dr. Wu will be my neurologist from this point on.  I was very impressed with him.
So that is what is going on with me.  I will try to keep you all posted with all the things we find out.  I am still really week, but when I take my medication I feel like I am getting some of the strength back in my legs, but my arms are still numb.  I am pretty weak all around though.  I feel like I can't do a whole lot, but I try.  I will be glad when I can pick Kayden up again and put my purse on my shoulder and not look retarded and wash my hands without getting to tired...I think you get the picture!

Kayden and the Utah snow!

So this past week we went to Utah...and it was a great time. We stayed with Annette and Neal (Thank you so much!) and we got to welcome home Elder Karl Prescott (pictures to come)!  Karl had a 3 hour (at least that is what we thought) in Salt Lake so we thought it would be the perfect chance for us to drive up and spend time with family and friends.  I got to see my old roommate, but I need to get the pictures from her blog...so I will put them on here another time.  We got to see my grandma and I am waiting for those pictures from my brother because I had forgotten our camera.  It was a wonderful trip and I am so glad we were able to go to the land of snow!  We truly enjoyed our time there.  It was even better that we were able to see Karl longer than we had planned to see him for!
We were packing for our trip and Kayden (you will notice a trend in these pictures) always has to put a hat on!
Right after we left Vegas Kayden was so out!  He slept the majority of the way.  It was great and he is a really good traveler.
There was a period of time that he didn't sleep and he had played with everything so I broke down, he was shocked as well, but I gave him a dum-dum.  He would look at me then look at the sucker then at me again and get a huge smile on his face, "I can't believe you gave this to me!"
Love the snow on the Utah mountains!
Another hat...
Kayden stood at the window and watched dada snow blow the drive way while Neal was at work on Tuesday.  He had to do it 3 times because of all the snow.  Kayden watched him every time too!
Can you find Ryan?
Finally, we got Kayden dressed in Zanders snow suit and took him outside.  He loved watching the snow fall.
Just didn't like being thrown in it so much!
He didn't like this so much either, but what was I supposed to do when I needed to get ready and he kept going up to Zander and poking him in the eye to say, "EYE!"
Here is the cute little Zander.  He is the sweetest little guy.  He has the funniest laugh and the cutest little noises.  I fell in love with the little guy!
Kayden loved Oakley and I don't think Oakley minded Kayden as long as Kayden didn't hold his toy to long.  Kayden was pretty good at throwing the toy to Oakley.  Oakley is the most well behaved dog.
Zander was excited about something.  I think it was me...His favorite AUNT!!!!  YUP...I said it LeeAnn...I am his fave...And doris tooo!
Yet another hat!
Uncle Cameron playing with Kayden.  This isn't the best picture...Kayden would really fly, and he loved every minute of it.  It was great!
