A Whole Lot of Firsts . . .

Well, the past couple of weeks have definetely been a learning experience in the parenting aspect of life. Kayden has changed our lives so much and we count our blessings everyday because he has blessed us so much. We enjoy being parents more and more each day as we watch him grow and progress. BUT, babies grow too fast. He isn't as cuddly as he used to because he is rolling and wants to be doing that all the time. I love it though. He seems so happy with himself once he has accomplished getting somewhere. He will just look at me and kick his little legs and punch his little fists as if he is saying, "Look at me!!! Look at what I can do."
Kayden's first haircut.  Gayle, Ryan's mom, did it and we had a little fun while doing it.  It can be in a foohawk (below) or the 'Ryan' way (above).  I think he is looking more and more like Ryan everyday.  Ryan was the cutest baby too so I don't mind.

Kayden eats rice cereal every morning and night.  He loves it now.  It took about two weeks of trying before he would really give it a chance.  You can tell he enjoys it because of his messy face.
This past weekend, we were able to go to San Diego Zoo with all the Workmans (and Westovers).  It was a blast.  Ryan's parents gave everyone tickets for Christmas this past year and all we had to pay for was gas and food.  It was a great trip.  My first Workman trip and I hope there are more to come.  It was amazing!  Thanks Papa and Grandma!
Kayden loves papa and papa loves his 'big boy combo'!  Mark is always so willing to take time away to pay special attention to each of his grandkids.  I think most people would after waiting 7 years for a grandchild.
I just love this picture.  Kayden was laughing at Papa.
One of our family pictures at the Zoo!
All tuckered out!  He fell asleep like this on Auntie Elsie!

Happy Easter.  Kayden and Landon were Easter Bunnies and Brooke was a flower!
We went to the San Diego Temple on Sunday morning before going to the beach and coming home.
It was beautiful on the grounds.  So green!
Isn't the ocean beautiful.  If you look close enough the part that looks like my hair is sticking up is actually a surfer.  Good timing Elyse!
It was a great little trip!  We really enjoyed ourselves and look forward to another sometime!

YIKES!!!! He's Rolling :/

I went through a phase that I forgot to take any pictures. So I have redeemed myself a little bit and taken quite a few the past week or so. Yes, he is rolling. He has it completely down from his back to his stomach but struggles a little going from his stomach to his back. He is doing really good. He has a tooth now as well. Yikes, is the only word I can find to describe that! Anyway, enjoy the pictures!
My little photo shoot with the little man.  Look how big his eyes are!!!!  He chews on his constantly.
He is trying to grab the camera.  It may not look like that but I was holding the camera out to the side and trying to get him to smile.  He just wanted the camera!!!

Just CUTE CUTE CUTE!!!!

So, He went from doing this!!!  Let me just say he went from just PLAYING!
To this!!!!  Oh, it gets better.  Just keep on scrolling down!
TO THIS!!!! YIKES!

Cousins, Cousins, Cousins

I was just thinking tonight how lucky we are to have such great cousins for little Kayden.  Although he hasn't met a lot of them I still think he is the luckiest person in the whole world because they all love him already. David, my nephew, did inform that that he did need to meet Kayden soo. Anyway, I was realizing how bored Kayden would get if it wasn't for Brooke most days.  Not that the babysitters are boring, it is just that Kayden LOVES his cousins.  Brooke has decided that it is her job to take care of Kayden and she does a very good job of doing just that.  She makes sure she shares her toys and she makes sure he has his pacifier if he needs it and she talks to him in baby talk and he loves it.She gives him his bottle.  Although this is a bottle that belongs to her doll, but it is the thought that counts.
Giving Kayden his pacifier! Sometimes she plays tricks on Gayle and will act like she is going to give it to Gayle, but then takes off running. It is really funny!
Dana thought that Zac would show no interest in Kayden, but he always had to know where the baby was. It was so sweet. I am glad that Zac has gotten to meet Kayden and I hope that although they don't see each other often that they will still be little buddies!
Then there is Landon! Kayden and Landon are going to be good little friends because they are so close in age. Landon and Kayden kissed each other the other day, but you could tell it was completely by accident. Actually, they were both hungry and found each others faces to suck on! It was rather comical! Kayden loves Landon and we can't wait to see them interact more as they get a little older!!!

Well, now, here are just a couple pictures of Kayden trying SOOOOO hard to try to get stuff off his lap in the BUMBO chair. It is so funny. He closes his hands too early, but he did figure out yesterday how to pull Aunt KuKu's glasses off her face. I was very proud of him for finally grabbing something. It did take a couple of tries, but he did it!

I haven't been the best at taking pictures lately so I will try to be better!

Surprise

Before!!!  I know, I know I look homeless.  I wasn't wearing any makeup and I didn't do my hair before I got it cut!

After. Much better! No more damaged ends! A little shorter than I wanted it, but oh well. It will grow back!

Tagged AGAIN . . . Thank Jenny

Well, I think this one will be good for me to do.  But if you want to read a fun little post then I would read Jenny's.  She is good at stuff like this.

10 Years Ago:  I was at a very awkward stage.  My mother had just passed away and I was living with Keith and Dana and that was fun, but I remember one thing that I know happened.  I had just 'broken up' with this boy and I thought I would be a jerk to him so I was and I thought that I would also rebel and not do my math homework.  EVER!  Well, Keith got my report card and there was a big old fat D-.  Oops!  I went and talked to my teacher the next day and ended up with a B in the class.  I learned a lesson . . . never get Keith mad!!!!!

5 things on my to-do list today:  #1  Clean my room!  My least favorite job! #2 Get Ryan some razors so he can shave.  He has been patiently waiting for these for over 2 weeks now!!!!  Sorry love!  #3  Go to Ryan's cousin's wedding reception at the Wright House (I have only been there for singles parties . . . never for a wedding!)  #4 Clean the bathroom and #5 Clean Kaydens room!  Man, I better get busy!

5 snacks I enjoy:   I like a lot of things, but I love applesauce with Peanut Butter (Thanks Erin), fruit snacks, oranges (only from Grandpa Carlings tree though), Chex Mix, and Garden Harvest Crackers!!!!!

What I would do if I suddenly became a billionaire:  Buy a house, Go to Europe, Invest, Spend $ on Scrapbooking, and let Ryan buy season passes for every sport he enjoys (which is ALL of them!!!)

3 Bad Habits:  I would rather dink around on the computer than clean my house!  I have been so much better lately, my house is always clutter free now (for the most part)!  I talk on the phone all the time and I should be doing other things!  My attention span isn't very long!  I find reasons to talk myself out of doing things that I should be doing!  If this doesn't make sense just call me and ask me about it!  See . . . you would be letting me talk myself out of something if you called me!

5 Places I have lived:  Brigham City, UT,  Ogden, UT,  Rexburg, ID,  Tempe, AZ,  Mesa, AZ

5 jobs I have had:  Early Morning Cleaner at BYUI, Telemarketer, Bank Teller, Gift Shop Asst. Manager, and Toys R Us

5 Things people don't know about me:  I would love to own a scrapbook store, I would love to invent something that a mother couldn't live without (like a BUMBO chair . . .  I couldn't live without Kayden's), I really would like to finish my degree (finding one first would be a good thing), Geckos terrify me (ask Ryan he has a hay day with this one), and I wish I had sung more throughout High School.

And Now I get to tag you guys!!!!!

Growing TOOOO Fast

I am sure you all know who I am talking about in the title.  It seems like just yesterday this little guy was brought into our lives and he is already three months old.  He has been so much fun to have around.  So I hope you enjoy the pictures I am posting today.
Kayden and I go walking with Brooke and Jenny on the mornings we don't work. It was rather chilly (at least for us Arizonians) on some of the mornings so Kayden would be all bundled up. He falls asleep on our walks and looks so warm and cozy the whole time.
Lately, Kayden's favorite 'toy' has been his burp cloth. He always grabs it and holds on to it like in this picture, but most of the time he stares at it and moves his hands just enough to get it in his mouth. He is getting really good at it.

Kayden always has a smile on his face. If he doesn't all you have to do is look at him and he thinks it is the best thing in the whole world. He is so cute all the time. Lately, he would rather talk than eat and so he will eat a little and the look at me for a minute or so and talk and then go back to eating. I like to take pictures like this so I can send them to Ryan at work so he doesn't feel like he is missing out on things. Ryan loves it too. I usually get a call from Ryan not long after a picture is sent wondering what Kayden is doing! Kayden LOVES LOVES LOVES his daddy!
Kayden loves his daddy so much that he told me to write this sign and take a picture of him holding it. I thought it was a good idea!
Some of you have probably heard me talk about a BUMBO chair. Well this is what it is. Kayden has been wanting to sit up all the time lately so I bought this from someone off craigslist. I love it and so does he. I got a little tray for it and he sits and plays with his toys in it and I just move the little chair with me wherever I am. I just got it today, but I was able to get so much more done because of this. It was wonderful! Great little invention!
Here is my shout out! I actually have a couple of them. This is little Landon. He is getting so big, but cuter by the minute!
Here is Brooke! She is so fun! She is always laughing and she loves being able to walk all over the place. He favorite game is for someone to say they are going to get her and take off after her so she can run off somewhere as fast as she can. So cute! This is my cute sister Annette! I just think she looks so cute pregnant. She is half way there!

Well, that is all for now. I hope you enjoy the pictures and I hope you all think my baby is as cute as I do! :)-

In Loving Memory of our Prophet . . .

It is so sad when someone we love (and never met) pass on.  President Gordan Bitner Hinckley passed away today and it will be a day we never forget.  President Hinckley has been the President of the Church for almost 13 years and has left a legacy behind that will never be forgotten.  He has put so many temples on the earth and introduced the smaller temples.  He was a wonderful man and a wonderful example.  His love and kindness will always be with us.  We will miss him as a prophet, but know that the next prophet will be as wonderful.

Kayden's Blessing and More . . .

It was a very eventful weekend in the Workman home.  We had many visitors and a ton of fun.  My dad and younger (can't say little because it isn't true!) brother, Cameron, came down from Utah and Ryan's old mission companion, Brad Neeley, and his fiance, Marie, came from Utah as well to witness Kayden's blessing.  We didn't really see Brad very much, but spent a lot of time with my Dad, Cameron, and LeeAnn.  The blessing went really well and Ryan did a very good job and gave the sweetest blessing.  The first thing Cameron said to Kayden was, "I'm your favorite Uncle!" I am sure he will be one of the favorites. Kayden loved talking to Cameron!

Here is one happy family. Ryan's the proud father, I am the happy mother, and Kayden is the hungry child. He didn't really want his picture taken alone so it isn't the best. I will try to get a better one of the cute little tux! It has the cute little bow tie. So CUTE!
I have been getting some requests for pictures of him dressed up like a cowboy so here you have it. There will be some more later when the hat fits him. He still made a cute little cowboy. Just like his dad was when he was little.
He is now starting to enjoy bath time. I could just sit and watch him for forever. He was so funny tonight when I took this picture.
Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Happy Birthday BROOKIE!!!! 1 Year Old!!!!!

So this is the closest I could get to pink!  Brooke is definetely a PINK girl.  She is so cute.  We would just like to wish her a happy, happy first birthday.  We love our little Brookie!  She has brought so much joy into the Workman family.  She started out the year being the only grandchild and with her she encouraged Landon and Kayden to make there appearance from heaven.  We are so grateful she did!  We love you Brooke and can't wait to see what the next year will bring as you grow and help Landon and Kayden grow!
Happy Birthday Brooke!  We love you!

Guess Who's 2 Months Old . . .

Yup, you guessed right! It is our little Kayden. He had an appointment last Friday and he is now weighing 10 lbs. 5 ozs. He is 23 1/4 inches long and is the cutest little stinker! I am loving being a mother. It is so great! Here is my tribute to Kayden and all the many reasons we love him!
He sleeps through the night! As many of you mothers out there might know of the huge milestone and I am very greatful that mine came so soon. If he wakes up it is usually because he wants his pacifier. When I have tried to feed him, he just conks out.
He loves to stand up and look around. He just looks funny in this picture because he is trying to get the hat off! His Uncle Aaron is holding him in this picture. He also loves his aunts and uncles and especially loves his cousins. Even the ones he hasn't met!
He is fun to spoil. He got all these things for Christmas. Keep in mind that I didn't have one toy for him so this should last a while. These came from us and from Grandma and Papa Workman. We didn't wrap his presents, but the grandparents did!!
He encourages food storage. Need I say any more?
He has the cutest little bum that he likes to stick out all the time! When he stretches it is the cutest thing because he pulls his legs up and sticks his bum clear out!

He tries to be bigger than he really is! Such a boy!  Jenny, I know it isn't what he should be eating, but he was so hungry!!!!  :)

Last, but not least, he makes me smile all day. He is so happy and gives me smiles all the time that melts my heart. He talks and talks all day like he has a story he is telling me. He is my boy and Ryan and I couldn't be happier with this precious little boy!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year!
