I love this age the best...so far!

I think I have said that about ONE MILLION times, but it is true.  Although we have to discipline now and that isn't so fun, but it still somehow ends up being a highlight of the day because of what Kayden does in time out.  I have so many things that I would like to say about Kayden, but remembering everything is going to be the trick!  So here it goes!

FIRST:  Kayden is talking like crazy.  He says all sorts of words from Kuku (his favorite) to tickle.  He loves to talk and acts like he knows what he is saying.  He says school, Jesus, tickle, Dada, Gaga (his blankey and GRANDMA), Taytay, Mallory, Kylie, Elyse, Deena, Papa, Ty, Brookie, and Landon.  Those are the ones he says daily.  If you ask him to say something he sure tries.  If you ask him where daddy is he says school.  If you ask him where Jesus is he finds a picture.  I love it.

SECOND:  Last Sunday Ryan and I were sitting on our bed just watching Kayden play after his morning bottle.  Kayden started doing this little bobble head move and since then when we tell him to dance he does this.  He seriously looks like a little bobble head.  It is rather comical.  THEN to add to it he started doing another move yesterday.  He bounces up and down, but he just bends his knees.  It is so funny to watch him.

THIRD:  Today LeeAnn, aka Kuku, was watching him and she obviously wasn't doing that great of a job (kind of like drowning a child...she's good at that...no not really...family joke).  ANYWHO!  She decided that he was hungry so she went and got some baby food out of the cupboard.  Well, Kayden was eating it out of desperation of starvation!  She realized this and decided to get him some chicken nuggets.  So she set the bottle of baby food down and was getting the chicken nuggets ready.  When she turned around he had grabbed the bottle and was drinking the baby food.  He must have been really hungry.

FOURTH:  Like I said above Kayden has been having to be disciplined.  It isn't fun, but it can be really funny.  It is really hard for Ryan and I to keep a straight face sometimes.  Tonight Kayden bite Ryan so Ryan put him in time out.  Kayden was being really quiet so I stuck my head in his room to see what he was doing thinking he may have fallen asleep.  (It hadn't been very long though!)  He was holding on to the side of his crib doing his new little dance move.  Then to top it off he would stop dancing and start clapping for himself.  It was so funny.  He finally heard Ryan and I laughing at him.  When we got him out he tried to bite Ryan again and Ryan got a little mad at him, but I just started laughing because Ryan has a hard time getting mad at him.

So here are the overload of pictures that I usually do.  I'm sorry I just post pictures in one post for the sake of time.  I don't have much of it!

Our cute little Tree...I put it in the corner and so far Kayden has been really good at not touching it very much.  He knows he can only have one ornament at a time off the tree.
I liked how my shelves turned out.  Especially the bottom shelf.  We still need to buy a stocking for Kayden.
For Thanksgiving Ryan's Uncle Gary had a bounce house and Kayden loved it.
You definitely don't get the effect of this picture.  These are Ryan's old shorts that were getting too small for him when he decided to loose weight.  Now they can't even stay up.
Kayden stood by the freezer and would touch the ice and say, "OOOOOO" for cold.
Great Grandma Workman came from Canada for a week and this was the best picture we could get of all of them.  1 Year OLDS!!!!  They just don't hold still for pictures!
Mike got in a motorcycle accident in Sept. and his leg hasn't healed as fast as he would like.  But it is coming along.  This is Mike, Brooke, and Alexis.  Alexis is Mikes niece.
Grandma Workman loved Santa she got her picture with him and she would say he was her boyfriend.
Kayden loved Santa...Can you tell!
Landon was confused about the beard, but I thought this was a classic Landon picture.  He is a very inquisitive little guy.  Tonight I got Landon to jump and he fell right on him bum.  It was pretty funny.  He would copy everything I did.

I hope the holiday season finds you all well.  Remember the reason for the season and have a Happy and Safe Holidays.

Everyday is something new

I told Gayle tonight that I had to update my blog tonight, because Kayden is doing so many new things everyday.  He had Ryan, Mark, Gayle and I in stitches tonight.  He was so funny.  He is getting to the age where he loves putting on a show!  Anyway, tonight we were eating and Kayden did something and Ryan started clapping his hands.  Well, Kayden has NEVER clapped his hands and Brooke always tries to teach him how, but tonight...he clapped his hands and it was like he was doing it in slow motion.  You could tell by the look on his face that he was focusing so hard on making his hands touch.

Then yesterday Kayden woke up and Ryan got him out of his crib and brought him to me while Ryan made his bottle.  (Yes he still takes a bottle and it drives me crazy!)  He drank his bottle and then we started playing with him and all of the sudden he started dancing.  He dances so funny.  He swings his head back and forth, opens his mouth all wide, and his eyes really wide!  It is so cute!  All you have to do is ask him to dance and he will bust out the little head motion!
I like to say things around Kayden like tickle, wow, dada, kuku, papa, and gaga (his blankets name is gaga).  He copies everything we say and continues to say it!  I love this age.

Anyway, more of what has been going on with us...Kayden was really sick this past week.  He was running a fever of 104 and it is the scariest thing that we have had as parents!  He was so sick.  He was lifeless and we could tell he was in pain.  We finally took him to Phoenix Children's Hospital Urgent Care and they said they weren't going to let him go home until his fever was down.  They kept us there for about 2 hours and during that time they gave him some Motrin because Tylenol wasn't working anymore and they did some blood work to make sure he didn't have a major virus that needed more attention!  They sent us home and said the fever could last up to 72 hours...It did...It was not fun at all!

Last week Ryan's grandma Workman, Aunt Linda, Cousin Mike, Allieta, and her baby Alexis came from Canada!  We had a lot of fun with them!  Mike got in a motorcycle accident in Sept. and hasn't been able to work so he decided to come down here to spend a week while he could!  He is engaged to get married in June and we are hoping to go up there for it!  It was an action packed week, but we had a good time!  I will post pictures later!

Anyway, I better go to bed!  I am getting really tired!  I just needed to write things down while I remembered them!

OK is OKAY

We had the chance to go to Oklahoma this past week to see my brother and his family.  He has 4 boys and they are a blast!!!!  Ryan and I flew out last Wednesday night after work and Ryan came home Sunday morning and I came home Tuesday afternoon.  We had a nice relaxing week!  It was great!  Kayden loved the 'doddy' (doggy) and loved being able to play outside all the time.  He did cut a tooth while we were there so he was a little on the fussy side.  My brother was so busy while we were there!  He is working 6 days a week and on Sunday he had meetings since he is the young mens president!  But I really enjoyed seeing him when I was able to!  Dana is a busy mother... she homeschools her children!  She is SO amazing!  She is so patient and is so excited to teach her children!  They love being homeschooled, but Dana is pretty hard core so they have to work really hard!  My nephews are getting so big!  Jacob will be 12 in July, Micajah will be 10 in February, David will be 8 in February, and Zac will be 4 in May!  They all love the super heros.  Jacob is an amazing artist and reader, Micajah is VERY athletic and a great writer, David can do store problems in his head as you read them to him, and Zac loves singing and being a super hero!

Well, I hope you enjoy the pictures that I was able to get!
David and Kayden sporting the fohawk!
Kayden stuffed his blanket in the halloween bucket and was dragging it around!  It was so funny!
He looks like a little man in this picture!  I think it is great!  You can also tell how well he is walking in this picture!
Keith giving Kayden a ride on the tractor!  Kayden was in heaven!
The boys being...boys!  Zac looks so innocent in this picture!
At the zoo they had these chains and we had a little fun with them!  Look how skinny Ryan is!
Micajah is so handsome!
Fall leaves...it was so good to see colored leaves!  This is my favorite time of year!
Ryan and I at the zoo!  Kayden was throwing a fit so he didn't get his picture with us!
Again, the boys being boys!
Micajah in the gorilla thing!
Zac trying to be as tall as his brothers in the gorilla thing!
David is stretching it!!!!!
Jacob is too tall!
Is this picture on here twice???  OOPS
Kayden scooted right up to David and sat down on his lap!  Priceless!
My little Raiders!
Kayden loved Tipper, there dog!  I think Tipper really like Kayden as well!

I know this is a really quick post, but I thought you might like to see the pictures!  Enjoy!

My baby is ONE! Where did this year go?

Yup, that is right... Kayden is one and I am one in shock parent. So much to remember and so much to worry about. Am I doing things right. Am I going to know how to handle situations when they come up? I can't believe he is a year old. I couldn't be a happier mother though. He is the best little guy. So I have decided to give 12 reasons we love him, but there are so many more...
1. He has a smile that melts your heart.
2. He is so tough. Things that you would think would hurt a child, don't bother him.
3. He loves to laugh. If you laugh, he laughs.
4. He is a well of knowledge.
5. He loves to point at EVERYTHING. It is so cute.
6. He loves people, especially his cousins... Brooke and Landon.
7. He loves to hold my hand and walk beside me.
8. He plays so good by himself sometimes I forget he is around.
9. He still loves to take naps.
10. He kicks his legs when he is excited.
11. He always waits outside for me to get home from work.
12. He is ours and I wouldn't want it any other way!

Here are the pictures of his birthday party.  They are in reverse order so if you want to see them in order go to the bottom and scroll up!
He was so tired by the end of the day he just wanted to go to bed.  He actually was kicking his legs when I put him in his crib which means he was excited to be there.
Kayden got this train from the Stradling family (Ryan's Aunt) and he didn't get to enjoy it until he was the only child around.  Thank you Sherri, Darton, Mallory, Taylor, and Kylie!  Kayden loves you so much!
Every picture that was taken of me I have this dorky look on my face.  Kayden was annoyed that the paper was stuck to his finger.
Grandma and Papa Workman got him this table.  He loves it.  I set it up after he went to bed and when he woke up this morning he couldn't believe his eyes.  It was priceless.  Thank you Grandma and Papa, we couldn't ask for better grandparents.
Grandma and Grandpa Carling gave him these books.  He loves them.  I took them to church today and they entertained him for a while.  Thank you!  And thanks for letting us use your back yard!
He was a mess.  Poor kid couldn't figure out why I was holding him so weird.  He was just fine when I let him play in the sink to clean him off.  He was in heaven!
Can I be done now?
Not only was Kayden in heaven, but Brooke loved the sprinkles on the cake.
Thank you Kylie... I think you are the reason he had frosting in his ear.  Kylie tilted her head and Kayden copied her and this was the result.
Should I stop eating this yummy cake yet or should I go back for more?
I can't get it off my arm...
Do you think I could fit anymore in my mouth!
Ready...Set...Go!!!
He didn't know what to think of everyone singing to him!
Kayden's great, great Aunt Joanna was able to join us and Kayden just loves her.

Thank you to all who helped make Kayden's day so special.  It will take him a couple days to recope.  He is one tired, party boy!

Kayden's Date with Aunt Kuku

LeeAnn (a.k.a. Aunt Kuku) took Kayden the Mother Nature's Farm to the pumpkin patch.  Kayden had a blast.  Afterwards, she took him to Applebees.  He had a blast and when he got home he slept for 4 hours.  He was so tuckered out!  Thank you Aunt Kuku, you are the best!
Kayden walks all over, but I think this is so cute for 2 reasons!  He is pointing and he has his arms up in the air!
Always thinking...
So serious...
I love this picture because I can tell that he is loving what he is doing!
Kayden, the horse!  This one is for you Mark!

Happy Halloween

I didn't get too many pictures of Kayden in his costume, but the ones I did get were really cute!  He was the cutest little giraffe I have ever seen in my life.  I will try to get a copy of him crawling away from someone else, but I may just put him back in his costume so you all can get the whole effect of his costume!
This giraffe doesn't like to be held!  That is for sure!
That binkie makes his eyes look more blue then they really are!
He loves being outside!
